OK , so Starsky tipped me off to this one.  Watch the trailer…you’ll know why I’m posting this.

Who will like it:   I can’t imagine anyone actually thinking this is a “good” movie, however if you watch it with tongue firmly in cheek (the way it’s meant to be viewed) you’ll have a good time.  I suggest renting it with friends and not letting them know what it is about. It’s a riot!  And the lead, Jess Weixler, gives a perfect deliriously twisted performance….I’m sure we’ll be seeing much more of her in the future.

So…….  I saw the new Bond movie this weekend. Didn’t think it was as great as Casino Royale, but it was a pretty good flick.  Granted the theater was packed with annoying Wesleyan students, I had a horrible seat and I fell asleep about 4 times (past my bed time), so I can’t really provide an accurate review until I see it again. If you are going to see this movie do not under any circumstance sit close to the screen. Craning your neck to see the huge screen is a pain in the ass already, but the quick jump cuts throughout every action scene makes it impossible to know what is going on. Also do not sit next to someone who has shoes that smell like they have been out in the rain for months.

Casino Royale is one of my fav movies, so it would take a lot for me to come out of the theater thinking QoS was better. Plus personally, I love long movies…to me, if I’m paying $10 to see a movie, as long as it is good I want to be in there as long as possible to make it worth it. Basically I need to go back during the afternoon, so I don’t fall asleep, in an empty theater, so that no one bothers me, and watch it again, but as a stand-alone film without thinking it is going to be the second coming of Casino Royale.

Anywho…on to the reason I’m posting today.  I have a man-crush on Daniel Craig…he can do no wrong in my P.O.V. He’s a great actor and I can’t wait to see what he comes out with next. Which brings me to Defiance. This is the next Craig movie coming out and it looks pretty damn good. It’s an Epic movie written and directed by Edward Zwick, who did the Last Samurai, Glory and Legends of the Fall….all movies that rock my shit. I love Epics, love Zwick, love Criag, so it goes without saying that I’m amped for this thing to come out. Take a peek…

I can already tell that there are going to be haters out there who are going to cry about the Russian accents. But really what are they supposed to do? Film the whole movie speaking in Russian with subtitles? That would be lame. Should they play the characters with American or English accents? Even more lame! The only real option is to get the actors to speak English with the Russian accent that everyone seems to hate on.

Another pretty damn cool thing about this flick is that Paramount Vantage is pushing this for awards season. Because of this, if you check out the website you can not only find the trailer, photos and bios on the actors, but they have the entire screenplay available for download!!! Why won’t this fucking weekend come sooner!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!!!

So… it’s a bit unclear as to what is going on right now with a very popular movie blog site.  Themovieblog is an amazing site which has been one motivation to me starting this site.  As of recently, apparently, they have yet to be paid for the past month or so which is absolute frippery!!! Whoever is at the helm of the cash bunny… Pay the men the money they’re owed please.  If you haven’t checked out themovieblog… Head over and check it out.  They are the hosts of the longest running movie related podcast on the internet and have quite the sense of humor.  All of us here hope that everything works out and this is just some sort of misunderstanding that they can laugh about in the future.  Good luck amigos!

Well sweet ass gang… The Dark Knight script has emerged thanks to Warner Bros. and their awesomeness!  TDK is nearing one billion dollars in box office sales… Hopefully it can hop over that mark.  Here’s the link so you can read, and reread and then read again gang:  Script

So… A buddy of mine just bought a house and has finished udgrading and modifying it’s amenities… And one of the greatest aspects of the house is the finished basement downstairs which we’ve coyned "Ewok Village".  It consists of two sweet ass comfy leather couches, a padded ottoman for your feetsies and drinks… Sweet surround system… card and bar table.. etc etc… but.. the best part is the 100" Projector that’s splattered all over the walls.  TDK comes out on DVD Dec. 9th I believe and can’t wait to watch it in the mini movie theater.  No words can justify this thing.  I’ll try and get pictures up if I can get them.  It may become the new studio of moviereign.

I’m happy to bring you news today of a new Wayan’s Bros. spoof titled "Dance Flick".  Now, this is the first time I’ve heard of this so we’re all in this together.  I must start by saying that I really hate all spoof movies save for a couple.  Scary Movies 1,2 & 3 were awesome.  1 & 2 were written and directed by the Wayan’s Bros.  Scary Movie 3 was just written by the Wayan’s Bros.  Then the Scary Movie franchise nuked the fridge with Scary Movie 4.  Not Another Teen Movie  is probably my favorite up to date spoof flick of this generation.  The classics are of course Airplane, Spaceballs, Robin Hood: Men In Tights, etc… All done extremely well and extremely smart.  Nothing will top those ever.  They’re not just spoof movies… They’re classics.  Then, all of a sudden peeps went fuckin nuts and started crank out shit pans like Date Movie, Disaster Movie, Superhero Movie, Meet The Spartans, Movie Movie… you get the idea… And those were complete shit bricks.  So, to get word that the Wayans are once again at the helm of a spoofer… I have a spark of hope in my belly once again.  Lets just hope it doesn’t come out like crap… Like Little Man.  Here’s the poster thanks to ma man Rodney at the themovieblog for the heads up:

Karate Kid is one of those movies that people my age and around that(20-30 I’m assuming) grew up with.  I remember watching the original and half not liking it, and half loving it!  I think I’ve been a bigger fan of "Sidekicks " since then with Charles Norris… Nevertheless, Karate Kid is a classic, and always will be.  So, here comes Jaden Smith, this little son of a superstar that is now going to take hold of the "Kid" universe with "Kung Fu Kid"… Whatever, I’m game!  Here’s the Jaden chop thanks again to Mania :

Young star Jaden Smith better get prepared for some waxing on and some waxing off. Columbia Pictures is dusting off another 80’s franchise (besides Ghostbusters) and plans to move forward with their new take on Karate Kid, which has been refashioned as a star vehicle for Smith. The 10-year-old actor, which you can next see in The Day the Earth Stood Still, began following in his father’s acting footsteps with his feature debut The Pursuit of Happyness and is also a martial arts practitioner.

The film will be produced by Jerry Weintraub (who launched the original franchise) and Overbrook Entertainment’s James Lassiter, Will Smith and Ken Stovitz. The script is being written by Chris Murphy, and the film will shoot next year in Beijing and other cities. While the new film will be set in that exotic locale, it will borrow elements of the original plot, wherein a bullied youth learns to stand up for himself with the help of an eccentric mentor.

China Film Group Corp. will co-produce in China.

It would be cool with me if they give it a PG-13 rating and a couple bullies from school get bloody noses… It would be even cooler if they give it a R rating and make it like that new movie "Kick-Ass" and people die by the blade… But, we all know that it’ll be rated PG and going to be this little disney like ha ha kicky kicky yay yay punchy dumb dumb FILM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

Reigners… what dos yous beez thinkins ah dis news?

The "28_____Later" films have been quite enjoyable for me.  The first better than the second but, there is nothing I can do about that.  I’d go so far as to say that they are a couple of my favorite zombie flicks.  I used to be interested in lots of zombie films but with recent lemons like… I can’t even remember there names but they are out there… It’s hard to like all of them save for a few i.e. The Later franchise.  Well, now it’s apparent that Danny Boyle(Director of 28 Days Later) is interested in returning to the helm for the third rabie/zombie series… Which would benefit it’s return.  Here’s the zombie poo thanks to mania :

Series creator Danny Boyle had to bow out of directing 28 Weeks Later due to a very schedule at that time but when the second installment was hitting theaters, the co-writer and director of the first film mentioned briefly that he would be interested in coming back for a third film if the story was right. Well, a year and a half has passed and we’ve had rumors of other directors getting attached to 28 Months Later only to be debunked later with little word from Boyle.

Until now.

While promoting his latest project Slumdog Millionaire, Boyle once again confirmed to Sci Fi Wire that he was interested in filming the third installment of the horror franchise. When asked if he was going to lead behind the camera, here’s what he had to say.

"I’d certainly like to," Boyle said. ""I feel the idea is quite a strong idea, and it could well involve directing it. Yeah, absolutely."

When pressed about the story concept, he wouldn’t give up the details.

"But I’ve got an idea for it, so I can’t really tell you any more than that at the moment, but hopefully that might happen," he said.

I’ve still yet to see a wet zombie fuck that just blows my mind with action and good acting… But I really don’t think I’ll ever see that

If they keep going though… I’d be interested in seeing a 28 Centuries later!!!  Wouldn’t you?
