Myers Signed On For Tarantino’s “Inglorious Bastards”

Ok now this movie is on my radar.  I’ve seen news for a while now about Quentin Tarantino’s new movie "Inglorious Bastards ".  I’ve heard some pretty big name actors join the already semi high profile cast.  So, now I’m interested.  I love every movie Tarantino puts his hands on sans Death Proof (total crap hole).  My favorites include "True Romance " with Christian Slater (favorite Gary Oldman role of all time),  "From Dusk Til Dawn ", "Reservoir Dogs ", and of course "Kill Bill".  I’m interested in seeing how the rest of this film plays out and hopefully it’ll make up for the bung production that was Death Proof.  Honestly it would have been just as fun if I sat in the theater and somebody stood in front of me and pissed in my face.  Here’s the popcorn surprise and plot from mania :

And another actor has joined the ranks of Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming WII flick Inglorious Bastards, reports The Quentin Tarantino Archives . The site reports the comedian Myers is set to play a small part in the film. With this addition, the cast includes Brad Pitt, Nastassja Kinski, Simon Pegg, Mike Myers, David Krumholtz, B.J. Novak and Eli Roth. Production on the Universal/Weinstein project will begin October 13 in Germany with director Tarantino hoping to get it ready for release at next May’s Cannes Film Festival.

Plot Concept: In the film, a band of U.S. soldiers facing death by firing squad for their misdeeds are given a chance to redeem themselves by heading into the perilous no-man’s lands of Nazi-occupied France on a suicide mission for the Allies.

One of my favorite roles of Mike Myers (besides "So I Married An Axe Murder") is as Steve Rubell in "54 ".  It was serious, yet sickly humorous and therefore I would be interested in seeing him take on a Tarantino role.  After Love Guru he needs a jump start in his career.  They say that actors in downward spirals who take roles in Tarantino films get a boost in work.  Look at John Travolta and Bruce Willis in Pulp Fiction.  Their careers were dying before that, and then all of a sudden they’re back.  Could the same be said for Myers?  We’ll see I suppose.
